Getting fewer sample requests than expected
Last updated: October 3, 2026
When fewer creators request samples than you expected, the cause is usually one of two things: your agents aren't reaching enough creators, or a setting in TikTok Shop stops creators from requesting. Work through the checks below in order.
Where to look
- On the Outreach tab of the Dashboard, the Creator Funnel shows how many creators you contacted and how many requested samples. Agent & segment performance shows each agent's reply rate and status. See The Dashboard.
- Affiliate CRM > Sample Requests shows the requests themselves. See Sample requests.
Check Euka first
- Are your agents sending? An agent that is stopped, in error, or out of creators sends nothing. See Why an agent isn't sending.
- Has a limit stopped them? TikTok caps how many new creators your Shop can reach each week, and Starter and Pro have an outreach allowance per billing cycle. When TikTok's weekly limit is reached, most agents stop until you click Resume. See Outreach limits: TikTok and your plan.
- Who are they reaching? Narrow filters, excluded lists and segments, and Exclude already messaged can leave an agent with few creators to contact. See Who an agent contacts.
- Does your invitation offer free samples? A target collaboration invitation asks a creator to promote your products. With Offer free samples on, each invited creator can request a free sample of every product in the invitation. When it's off, creators can't request a free sample through that invitation.
- Are rules turning requests down? If you're counting approved samples, check Auto Review. An agent marked Auto Reject rejects every request that matches it, and any message it sends uses your Shop's weekly TikTok outreach quota. See Auto Review agents.
- Are you comparing the same count? We count sample requests from our own records, by the day each was made, so our numbers can differ from TikTok Shop's Seller Center. See Why Euka's numbers differ from Seller Center.
If TikTok's weekly limit is what holds you back, an Email Only email campaign reaches creators by email without using it.
What we don't control
These are TikTok Shop's rules and settings, as of September 2026:
- Which SKUs creators can request follows the Open Collaboration sample settings in Seller Center (which SKUs, and how many), not your product listing. Open Collaboration is TikTok Shop's setting that lets any creator promote a product.
- A negative Finances balance in Seller Center blocks creators from requesting samples, and TikTok doesn't tell you. Bring the balance back above zero.
- TikTok's weekly outreach limit depends on your Shop's affiliate sales (GMV) over the last 30 days. With no affiliate GMV, TikTok lets a US, UK, or EU Shop reach no new creators at all.
FAQs
Will a bigger Euka plan get me more sample requests?
A bigger plan won't do it by itself. Upgrading removes our own outreach allowance on Starter and Pro, but TikTok's weekly limit stays the same on every plan. See Plans and limits.
Creators say they can't request a sample. Why?
Check TikTok Shop first: the Open Collaboration sample settings decide which SKUs can be requested, and a negative Finances balance blocks all requests. If they came through your invitation, make sure it offers free samples.
Why does Euka show fewer sample requests than Seller Center?
We count the requests we've stored, by the day each was made. Seller Center uses TikTok's own analytics, so the totals don't always match.
Can I keep reaching creators when TikTok's weekly limit is used up?
Yes, you can reach them by email. Email Only campaigns don't count toward TikTok's limit, and they keep sending after it's reached.
